Day One
Evidently, it takes six weeks and one day for a Japanese person to go out of their way - way over across the stream in the community garden opposite the trail from where I’m jogging - to proactively wave and say good morning (ohayo, gozaimasu!) to a foreigner - a “Gaijin” - like me. Oh, the fleeting feeling of acceptance! I cried. (Really.)
