This week I ended a three-year relationship with my water bottle. We parted ways in my hotel room in Portland, Oregon. I bought the cerulean-tinted Nalgene (pronounced NAL-jeen) water bottle at a Target in Charlottesville, Virginia in December 2023. The reason I left it behind in the room’s recycle bin was not because it was damaged or because I wanted to switch to another brand. I was trying to make room in my luggage and…I really want the cherry blossom pink one.
